What is Arya Samaj Shadi?
Definition, Philosophy, and Importance
Arya Samaj Shadi is a Vedic marriage ceremony conducted according to the principles of Arya Samaj, emphasizing simplicity, equality, and spirituality. Unlike conventional weddings that often focus on grandeur, Arya Samaj Shadi focuses on the sacred union of two souls. This ceremony can be conducted for all Hindus, including couples from different castes, communities, or regions. It is also suitable for love marriages and remarriages.
The ceremony is officiated by an Arya Samaj Pandit in the presence of a sacred fire (Havan Kund), where Vedic mantras are chanted to bless the couple with happiness, prosperity, and harmony. Arya Samaj Shadi is legally valid under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, making it officially recognized for all legal purposes.
